THE FIRST RESORT BUILT

As vineyards flourished, a new idea emerged that transformed Soma Vine Village into one of Nashik's earliest vineyard resort experiences, shifting from production to immersion where guests could live among the vines and experience wine at its source, waking up to panoramic vineyard views and a deeper connection with nature, marking a turning point where hospitality and winemaking blended seamlessly, offering spaces designed with calm, openness, and understated luxury, allowing nature to remain central, and redefining wine tourism by making guests not just tasters but participants in the wine journey, ultimately establishing Soma as a true experiential destination.

Years of dedication culminated in the release of Soma Vine Village's first vintage in 2014, marking a defining moment that went beyond a product launch and reflected deep understanding of terroir, refined winemaking techniques, and patient craftsmanship, where each bottle carried the essence of Nashik's soil, balanced structure, and expressive character shaped by careful production, introducing a curated portfolio of elegant whites, structured reds, and vibrant sparkling wines, each crafted with precision and clarity of vision, establishing Soma not only as a vineyard destination but also as a serious and respected name in India's growing boutique winemaking industry.

Every story begins with a moment of clarity, and for Soma Vine Village it started with a deep understanding of wine not just as a product but as an experience waiting to be created in India, leading Pradeep Pachpatil to lay its foundation after years in the wine industry and global exposure, carefully selecting Nashik for its rich soil, climate, and natural rhythm, where on a 25-acre estate he began cultivating Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Zinfandel, nurturing vines with patience and long-term vision, setting the stage for what would become a legacy beyond business.

The Beginning

Every story begins with a moment of clarity. For Soma, it began with a deep understanding of wine not just as a product, but as an experience waiting to be created in India. After years of working closely within the wine industry and gaining exposure to global winemaking practices, the foundation for Soma Vine Village was laid. The land in Nashik was carefully chosen, not just for its beauty, but for its potential, its soil, its climate, its rhythm. This phase was quiet, intentional, and deeply focused. Before there were guests, before there were bottles, there were vines nurtured with patience, precision, and belief. Every decision made during this time was guided by a long-term vision: to create something that would stand apart, both in quality and in experience. This was not the beginning of a business.
It was the beginning of a legacy.

THE FIRST RESORT BUILT

As the vineyards began to flourish, a new idea emerged, one that would redefine Soma’s direction.

What if wine could be experienced where it was made?

This thought led to the creation of one of Nashik’s earliest vineyard resort experiences. Soma evolved from a place of production into a place of immersion where guests could stay amidst the vines, wake up to expansive views, and truly connect with the land. The introduction of the resort marked a turning point.

It brought together hospitality and winemaking in a way that felt natural, seamless, and ahead of its time. Guests were no longer just tasting wine; they were living it. Spaces were designed to reflect calm, openness, and understated luxury, allowing nature to remain at the center of the experience. This was the moment Soma became a destination.

From elegant whites to structured reds and expressive sparkling wines, the collection reflected both confidence and clarity in vision. It marked Soma’s arrival not just as a vineyard destination, but as a serious name in boutique winemaking.
